The design made me feel like if I was in a
chic boutique, a huge one! Especially
with that fitting rooms with a chill out area with plush seats where my hubby
can seat and relax while I try on some clothes! Perfect! Don’t you think? I
almost forgot I was in a retail store!!
Because let’s be honest, and this is only
my opinion. I understand the concern to
provide a great customer service; but as a customer there is nothing more uncomfortable
that a store personnel following you around the store and asking you if you
need something. I might be wrong but
that’s how I feel. Instead of that we
can create a wonderful and sumptuous environment for our customers and spoil
them without the need to say anything.
From their very first step into the store they feel that they are in a
unique place. And H&M had proved
that you can do it and keep your prices low.

Every customer that sees a great retail
design knows that all that work is for them to feel good and spend time and of
course money in the store. And by the
same rule when they see a boring retail store, with uncomfortable fitting room,
no space to walk around because everything is so full of racks to maximize the
space; there’s a feeling that the store cares more about the sales, rather that
the shopping experience.
If I had to design a retail store I will
make a list of rules like this one:
